What I do here

I write and edit everything on LawShortcut — the free notes, the model answers and the study modules. The work is Irish law for exams: what the rule is, which case or section it comes from, and how to put it into an answer under time pressure.

How I work

Every case name, citation and statutory reference goes into a verification ledger before it can appear on a page. The ledger holds the citation as it was read from the law report or the judgment, any parallel citations, the court that decided it, and the citations that are known to be wrong so that they can never be printed again. It currently runs to over 1,400 checked case citations. The site will not build if a page carries a citation the ledger has settled the other way — the check runs on every page at build time, and a failure stops the publication rather than warning about it.

Where a case is cited by a textbook or a course manual but I have not read the report myself, the entry is marked as unverified rather than printed as settled. Where two sources give different citations for the same case, the conflict is recorded and the page prints only what can be stood over.

Drafting is AI-assisted. Every piece is reviewed by me before it is published, and the citation check above runs on all of it.

What I will not do

I do not reproduce examination papers or examiners’ answers, and nothing here is copied from any institution. Practice questions on this site are original and labelled as original. Where a point is genuinely unsettled in Irish law, the note says so rather than picking the tidier answer.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, write to hello@lawshortcut.com with the page and the citation. Corrections are made at the source, so the fix reaches every page that cites the same authority.
